In a bowl, mix flour, salt, and turmeric. Add butter and shortening, rubbing them into the flour until crumbly. Gradually add ice-cold water and knead into a dough. Wrap in plastic and refrigerate for 30 minutes.

Cook ground beef in a skillet over medium heat until browned. Add onion, garlic, thyme, allspice, cayenne, black pepper, and salt. Stir in soy sauce, curry powder, and beef broth. Simmer for 10 minutes. Mix in breadcrumbs and cook until thickened. Let cool.

Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Roll out dough and cut into circles (6-inch diameter). Place 2 tbsp of filling on one side, fold over, and seal edges with a fork. Brush with egg wash.

Arrange patties on a lined baking sheet. Bake for 20–25 minutes until golden brown.
