Cook pasta according to package instructions. Drain and set aside, reserving 1/2 cup of pasta water.

Season steak slices with salt and black pepper. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat and sear the steak until browned and cooked through, about 2–3 minutes per side. Remove and set aside.

Lower the skillet heat to medium and melt the butter. Add garlic and sauté for 1–2 minutes until fragrant.

Pour in the beef broth and simmer for 2 minutes, scraping any browned bits from the bottom of the skillet.

Stir in the heavy cream and parmesan cheese. Let the sauce simmer for 3–4 minutes until thickened. Add red pepper flakes if desired.

Toss in the cooked pasta, adding reserved pasta water as needed to loosen the sauce. Return the steak to the pan and gently stir to combine.

Serve hot, garnished with chopped parsley and extra parmesan, if desired.
