01 -
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking.
02 -
Peel bananas and cut into 1 cm thick rounds. Arrange them evenly on the prepared baking sheet.
03 -
If desired, top each banana slice with approximately ½ teaspoon of creamy peanut butter.
04 -
Place the baking sheet in the freezer for 30 minutes, until the banana slices are firm.
05 -
Melt chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second bursts, stirring between each, until smooth. Alternatively, melt gently using a double boiler.
06 -
Remove banana slices from the freezer. Dip each slice into the melted chocolate using a fork or toothpick, ensuring it is fully coated. Let excess chocolate drip away.
07 -
Return coated banana bites to the baking sheet. Immediately sprinkle with crushed nuts, coconut, or sprinkles if desired, before the chocolate sets.
08 -
Freeze banana bites for at least 1½ hours, or until completely set and solid.
09 -
Serve frozen. Store any extras in an airtight container in the freezer for up to two weeks.
