Crunchy, golden rings with crispy panko coating, air fried to perfection for a lighter version of the classic appetizer.

# Ingredients:

→ Onions

01 - 2 large yellow onions, sliced into ½-inch rings and separated

→ Breading Station

02 - ½ cup all-purpose flour
03 - ½ tsp salt
04 - ¼ tsp black pepper
05 - 2 large eggs
06 - 1 tbsp milk
07 - 1½ cups panko breadcrumbs
08 - ½ tsp paprika
09 - ½ tsp garlic powder
10 - ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
11 - Cooking spray (olive oil or avocado oil preferred)

# Steps:

01 - Organize three shallow bowls: Bowl 1 with flour, salt, and pepper; Bowl 2 with beaten eggs and milk; Bowl 3 with panko breadcrumbs, paprika, garlic powder, and Parmesan (if using).
02 - Dredge onion rings in the flour mixture, dip into the egg mixture, and coat with the panko mixture. Press gently to ensure the breading adheres.
03 - Place breaded onion rings on a baking sheet or plate in a single layer.
04 - Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for 3 minutes.
05 - Lightly spray both sides of the onion rings with cooking spray and arrange them in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Cook in batches as needed. Air fry for 8–10 minutes, flipping halfway through, until they are golden brown and crispy.
06 - Serve immediately with ketchup, ranch dressing, or your favorite dipping sauce.

# Notes:

01 - For a milder flavor, use sweet onions such as Vidalia.
02 - Freeze breaded onion rings for 15 minutes before air frying to enhance crispiness.
03 - Add cayenne pepper to the breadcrumb mix for a spicier variation.
